The Island specific local soil and the microclimate generated by the proximity of the Saint-Lauwrence River allow us to get a distinctive taste to our products and to facilitate the culture.
We started establishing the vineyard in 2002 and pursued the venture each spring since. We now have 8,000 grapevines and the vineyard extends now to 10 acres divided in 5 parcels.
We produce about 10,000 bottles of wine per year, mostly in red wines. We also produce 10,000 bottles of wine made from our apples and pears.
The harvest is made manually.
We work with hybrid grape varieties (making them hardy in the Quebec climate). Here are their names:
- MARECHAL FOCH
- PETITE PERLE
- FRONTENAC NOIR
- FRONTENAC GRIS
- LEON MILOT et plusieurs autres
All our wines are made on our property in our winery which is a renovated cement block old barn of 40 x 80 feet in which we have installed all the instruments and equipment necessary for winemaking, fermentation, aging, bottling.
